Traditional mice, which are used around Lent, are usually made from leavened dough, which can be time-consuming because the dough needs to rise. Yogurt mice are prepared by mixing all the ingredients in one bowl into a smooth dough, forming them with a spoon and then frying them. Delicious and simple!
In addition to donuts, mice are also happy at Mardi Gras! This time we peppered the recipe for the best yogurt mice, which are an excellent carnival dessert and, compared to traditional doughnuts, also less time-consuming.
Ingridients
- 200 grams of flour
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 pot of yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1 vanilla sugar
- 1 small spoonful of rum or cognac
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- ½ bag of baking powder
- salt
- oil for frying
- icing sugar
- chocolate if desired
- coconut flakes if desired
Preparation
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them with an electric mixer into a smooth dough, which is left to rest for a while. In the meantime, heat the oil in a large container and then fry the mice in the hot oil, forming them with a spoon dipped in boiling oil. The oil is hot enough when small bubbles appear next to the cooking pot placed in it. Mice turn themselves around during spawning, but we can also help them with this. When they are golden brown on both sides, carefully remove them from the oil, drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar. They will be even tastier if they are covered with melted chocolate and sprinkled with coconut flakes.
