Preparing a perfectly roasted chicken requires only a few basic tricks and a little precision in timing and temperature. The key to success is to prepare the chicken well, adjust the cooking time according to its weight and ensure that the skin becomes crispy using the correct techniques.

But despite the fact that roasting a chicken seems easy, many people face the problem of how to achieve it perfect crispy skin, without the meat becoming dry or undercooked baked.

In order for the result to be optimal, it is crucial that you know some tricks and correct time and temperature settings for roasting chicken.

Preparing the chicken before baking

The first thing you need to do to get the perfect roast is to make sure you're using properly prepared chicken. If you took it out of the freezer, you need it before baking defrost completely.

The best method to do this is to place it in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours, as this reduces the possibility of it heating up too quickly on the counter and becoming susceptible to the development of bacteria.

Roasting chicken that is still frozen is not recommended, because due to uneven heating, the outer layer of meat will quickly be overcooked, while the inside will remain raw.

The process of preparing chicken for roasting

Before placing it in the oven, clean it well and dry it with a towel. This will help the skin to get a nice golden brown while baking.

A chicken weighing about 1 kilogram, needs approx one hour and ten minutes of baking at 200 degrees Celsius.

Chicken thighs they are usually baked in approx 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, and it is recommended to bake them for 15 minutes on each side. In this way, they will be evenly roasted and crispy, while at the same time the meat will remain soft and juicy.
