Ingredients

  • 1 tub of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of butter
  • 70 g of cornflakes
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of rum for flambéing

Directions

1. Preparation of ice cream balls: Shape the ice cream into 4 large balls and place them on a tray lined with baking paper. Place them in the freezer for at least 30 minutes to set well. 2. Preparing the crispy coating: Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Add crushed cornflakes, cinnamon and sugar. Stir-fry the mixture for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Allow to cool completely. 3. Topping the ice cream: Take the ice cream scoops out of the freezer and roll them in the chilled crunchy mixture to coat them evenly on all sides. Put the balls back in the freezer for 15 minutes. 4. Flambé: Transfer the ice cream scoops to an ovenproof plate. Heat the rum in a small saucepan, but do not boil it. Pour the yolk over the ice cream scoops, light it with a long match and enjoy the fire show. Wait for the flame to go out on its own. 5. Service: As soon as the flame goes out, serve the ice cream. If desired, decorate it with whipped cream, fresh fruit or chocolate topping.
