- Beat the egg and mix it into the dough with your hands, then add honey. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for an hour.
- Then use a spoon to divide the dough into smaller pieces, which you will shape into balls with your hands. The size of the balls is up to you: make them bigger if you want bigger gingerbread.
- Arrange the gingerbread in a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 10 minutes in an oven heated to 180°C. The gingerbread cookies are baked when they turn dark brown around the edges.
- While baking, prepare the cream: mix sugar and lemon juice in a large bowl. Then fill a piping bag with the mixture and decorate the gingerbread. Bon Appetit!
Additional tips:
– If you don't like nuts or are allergic to them, you can also make gingerbread without them.
– If you want gingerbread in different festive shapes, then instead of making balls out of the dough before baking, use molds.
- When you arrange the gingerbread in the pan, make sure that there is some space between them. Baking soda causes the dough to swell during baking.
– The cream mixture should be so thick that it slowly drips off the spoon when you pick it up. If it is too thin, add more sugar, and if the cream is too thick, add lemon juice.
– Instead of a piping bag, you can use baking paper that you have shaped into a tube.
