How much kombucha can we drink a day?

Since kombucha is often prepared with green or black tea, it should be noted that the drink contains caffeine. The recommended amount is half a liter per day. The drink can be prepared at home or bought in various stores. But be careful: many drinks you can buy in supermarkets are pasteurized, this unfortunately kills most of the healthy ingredients.

You can also prepare kombucha tea yourself at home.

To prepare kombucha, you need the following ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of kombucha culture (one sponge)
  • 100 ml of ready-made kombucha drink (fermented, which we got together with the kombucha culture)
  • 1 liter of water
  • 7 g of tea (black, green or white tea)
  • 80 g of cane sugar
  • container for fermentation (glass container with a lid that closes hermetically...)
  • cover cloth
  • household rubber band

Boil the water, add the tea and let it stand for 15 to 20 minutes. Add sugar and mix. Allow to cool completely.

Then put the prepared kombucha and tea fungus into the fermentation container and fill it with tea. Finally, cover with a cloth and secure with a rubber band. Leave the container in a warm place (21 degrees) for at least ten days. The higher the room temperature, the faster the fermentation will be. Then fill the bottles, refrigerate and enjoy. You can keep the drink in the refrigerator for more than six months.
