Recipe: Original Mexican Tacos

Corn tortillas they're the base of these tacos and you can buy them ready-made or make your own. You can use beef, chicken or pork for the filling.

Ingredients

  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 500 g of meat (beef, chicken or pork)
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of red pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh coriander
  • lime
  • avocado, cut into pieces

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and fry for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the meat, cumin, red pepper, salt and pepper and fry for 8-10 minutes until the meat is well browned.
  3. Heat a little olive oil in another pan over medium heat and add the sliced bell pepper. Fry for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Take the tortillas and heat them on the fire or in the oven.
  5. Place the meat and peppers on each tortilla, then garnish with fresh cilantro, lime wedges and avocado.
