Recipe for apple roses
Ingredients for 6 apple roses:
- 1 frozen puff pastry (thawed)
- 2 large red apples
- juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 3 tablespoons of apricot jam
- cinnamon
- icing sugar
Process:
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a counter sprinkled with a spoonful of flour and cut into 6 narrow strips. I put some water and lemon juice in a bowl. Cut the apples in half, remove the core and cut the halves into thin slices. We don't peel the apples. Soak the slices in a bowl with diluted lemon juice, as this will prevent the apples from darkening. Place the bowl of apples in the microwave for about 3 minutes to soften the apples a little. Spread the strips of dough with apricot jam, place apple slices on them and sprinkle them with cinnamon if desired. Fold the bottom edge up and "trap" the apples in the dough. Then we roll the strips and form roses. Place the roses in a greased muffin tin and place in an oven heated to 190 degrees. Bake for about 45 minutes. Lightly sprinkle the golden-brown baked roses with powdered sugar.
