Have you heard of warm smoothies? If you haven't already, now is the time. It is a delicious version of a normal cold smoothie, except that you add it here warm ingredient (in this case milk). The result is surprising. Although it is undoubtedly a much more nutritious meal, the taste is comparable to hot chocolate.
Ingredients for a warm chocolate smoothie:
- 1 cup unsweetened milk alternative (such as almond milk)
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cashew butter (or peanut butter)
- 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
- half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- optional dark chocolate for decoration
Preparation of a warm chocolate smoothie:
Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat until it becomes hot or bubbles begin to form around the edges of the saucepan. Carefully pour the milk into the blender. Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and blend on low speed for a few seconds, then increase speed and blend until smooth. Pour into a cup or smoothie glass and garnish with dark chocolate. Drink within 10 to 15 minutes of preparation.

You can also add protein powder to your smoothie, but be careful. Some protein powders can curdle after a few minutes of the smoothie, which means you have to drink it really fast.
