Red Bull Goni Pony 2016 is a continuation of the success story that first started last year. This year, an unusual cycling event will take place on June 4, 2016, when brave people will set off for the second time on the legendary pass with the bikes of your and our youth, the Pony bikes. Technically, these are far from those that cyclists drive in the Juriš na Vršič competition, because you can forget about gears and feather-light frames. Which is still no reason not to push to the top of the 1,611 meter high pass. Do you accept the challenge?

Red Bull Goni Pony will once again show that even with old wheels it is possible to go over passes. And not just any passes. For the second year in a row, Red Bull Goni Pony is organizing a cycling competition with Ponies on the Vršič Pass. With Pony, it will be necessary to overcome 24 cube serpentines this time, 801 meter height difference (inclination to 10,8 %), arranged on a 13.5-kilometer route.

The competition will take place in men's and women's categories, and male and female cyclists will set off from the center of Kranjska Gora, more precisely from the event area behind the Kompas hotel. The time will be measured at the Lek Hotel, where the flying start will take place. As the Red Bull Goni Pony is not a regular cycling competition, it's not just the time set by the competitor that counts, style is also a category, so do your best retro.
"Dress code" is somehow Pony. Rog's legendary models that were created are desirable between 1965 and 1985, are only allowed 20 inch wheels without gears, but at least the rear brake must work. Even the gear sizes must remain original, which means only 44-20 gear ratio, and the crank can be a maximum of 180 mm long. You can also forget about SPD pedals.
