Renault Alpine Vision: a legend returns to the road

Renault Alpine Vision

Renault will bring the two-seater Alpine Vision, a new model of the revived Alpine brand, to the Geneva Motor Show. This heralds a production model that will roll out of the factory in the brand's birthplace in 2017. The brand with a noble pedigree, which borrowed its name from the mountains, is thus returning to the road after 1995 with a new production model, which is not behind in terms of capabilities Porsche 911 Carrera.

Renault revived the brand Alpine, a brand of sports vehicles that even Porsches used to look down on during rallies. Two-seater sports coupe will be manufactured in the brand's birthplace, in the factory in Dieppe, France, a concept that will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, has 80 percent of the design "genes" of the future production model. They decorate it low silhouette, a rounded hood with round headlights and Kim Kardashian-like accentuated hips (read: accentuated rear fender), paying homage to past models, especially the famous A110 Berlinette Coupe.

The interior is a cocktail of leather, microfiber fabrics, carbon fiber, aluminum and lighting "effects" (illuminated door openers, blue illuminated main switches, etc.). It is a real game of contrasts tablet multimedia device with the stopwatch in the center of the dashboard in a central role. The driver will have a view of the instrument panel with a flexible screen TFT (Thin Film Transistor), steering wheel with three spokes and two shift paddles, and the pedals and foot rest have a forged pattern with alpine peaks.

Compact and light the Alpine Vision sports coupe, which will impress both aesthetes and adrenaline-seeking individuals, is Renault's ticket to a higher price class, where Renault currently does not have a representative. He will accelerate to a hundred from a standstill in 4.5 seconds, and should be driving it 1.8 liter turbo engine, from which it will squeeze out 250 hp (184 kW). They should charge somewhere between 40 and 50 thousand euros for it, and they want to sell them for 3 thousand per year. Between 1955 and 1995 they made about 30 thousand of them.
