Renault's Kwid with a flying assistant

Renault's new Kwid concept car is packed with futuristic ideas, including a quadrocopter that would launch from the roof.

The "flying companion," as Renault calls it, could fly autonomously or be controlled manually, checking the road ahead. In case of traffic jams or other problems on the road, the flying robot warns us and suggests an alternative route. In the car, we can also monitor live what our little helper sees in the air.

The Kwid was first unveiled at the 2014 New Delhi Auto Expo as a small SUV with a modern design that Renault thinks would do well on Indian roads. The car's interior is just as futuristic as a flying drone, with a centrally-mounted steering wheel and a screen on the left. Renault foresees front-wheel drive and a 1.2-liter turbo engine. There was not much talk about when we will be able to see such a vehicle on the market.
