If you want to get respect, you have to give it!
Respecting someone it means taking care of his feelings, taking his opinion into account, allowing him to enjoy his rights and recognizing his traditions.
It means being able to open your heart and understand even things that seem unreasonable or strange to you. Embrace diversity and encourage the difference of people. Agree to disagree. To be human.
You have to experience a lot in life to understand the golden rule. Treat others as you want to be treated. You learn that as you grow. Something you either accept as a way of life or completely reject.
And when you finally accept it and start actively implementing it, they happen wonderful things.
The world is suddenly different than it was before. Warmer, safer, more lively, more beautiful, more pleasant. It gives you hope for a better tomorrow, opens doors for you, puts you in front of new opportunities. Above all, it changes you as a person.
In my opinion, every person deserves respect, despite what most people think they do. Every living being, every soul deserves recognition and acceptance. Even those who don't respect you in return.
Because respecting someone has nothing to do with who they are. It's about you. About who you are as a person. About what your soul carries, how much love and acceptance you have in your beautiful heart. It's about how big of a person you are.
Treat others the way you want to be treated, but don't look down on anyone. Even those who don't respect you. Their disrespect isn't an affirmation of your worth, it's a sign of their character.
