Rimac C_Two: 0 to 100 in 1.9 seconds

Rimac C_Two

The Rimac C_Two was presented to the public for the first time last year, where it drove the crowds crazy. This year, it was brought back, this time in a new guise and even more glowing - it has a car enthusiast's dream performance, and even those who are used to taming the fastest cars in the world can't hide their enthusiasm for it.

One of them is the Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg, who does not hide his enthusiasm for the super sports electric car Rimac C_Two. If we take a cursory look at the C_Two presented at this year's Geneva Motor Show, we could say that it just got a new one paint application - the arctic white color in combination with the dark blue painted parts of the car still looks attractive - but the new color does not mean only a change of skin, but also that development is taking place at Rimac according to plans and are already prototypes of the electric beast in making. Apparently, the final versions will be ready for customers by the end of the year 2020.

Exterior of the car Rimac C_Two color matches also with the interior - in it we see a combination of blue leather and matte colored carbon fiber parts. When Tesla revealed the specifications of its Roadster, Mate Rimac sat down at the table again and began to think about what engineering tweaks were needed to make it Rimac C_Two better than Tesla's highly anticipated car.

To make the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h really amounted to 1,9 seconds and would be the top speed 400 km/h, it was necessary to install new gearboxes and do something small, almost imperceptible aerodynamic corrections on the bumpers. The so-called also contributes to better performance 'car cage', which is made of carbon fiber and in one piece, and parts of the chassis and body are attached to it. With this, they increased the torsional strength, and the method of making such a car is up to now unique. Battery with capacity 120 kWh has enough energy for 550 kilometer-long journey (according to the globally harmonized test procedure for light vehicles WLTP).

At this moment, we know that the total system power of Rimac's electric motors is 1914 horsepower, and we have torque for 2300 newton meters. In theory, this is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h only needed 1,9 seconds, to accelerate from 0 to 300 km/h only 11,8 seconds. But this is only a theory, as these predictions still need to be proven! And given that they are at Rimac in designing the car Rimac C_Two paying attention to every millimeter, there is a high probability that they will succeed as predicted.
