The Roadside Station represents a new artistic practice in public space, as it is a ready-made open-air gallery that uses existing pieces of the city – artifacts, compositions and installations – and transforms them into works of art or art objects by attributing concepts to them. This opens up new perspectives on the possible use of public space and fills the impoverished city space with artistic concepts and objects. The project is also a strong connecting element, as Maribor and Graz will cooperate in this artistic practice. First, workshops will be held in Maribor between 13 and 16 June, followed by Graz at a similar time. On 31 July, the project will premiere with a guided tour in Maribor, with a repeat the next day at the same location. On 3 August, the project will be carried out in a combination of Graz and Maribor, which means that the Graz audience will be brought to the open-air gallery set up in Maribor, and on 4 August, the Maribor audience will visit the same event in Graz.
