"Rock'n'Roll on stage, not behind the wheel" is the new mantra that young people repeat aloud. Although it sounds like a slogan from a retro drinks ad, it's actually the slogan of the latest campaign Heroes are frolicking in their pyjamas. This time, the main focus is on relationships, trust and responsibility - because sometimes it's not enough for mom and dad to just raise you, but they also have to be ready for a midnight pick-up service. In the middle of the night, in pajamas, with red eyes, but - safe!
Driving under the influence: "no" to celebrity escapades
For the eighth year in a row Heroes fuck in their pajamas prove that pajamas can also be a fashion statement. Although it would be cool to say that it is a new fashion trend, the matter is much more serious. The initiative, led by the VOZIM Institute with partners, including the Generali insurance company and the Luna \TBWA agency, has been urging young people to say a firm "no" to alcohol and drugs in traffic for eight years. You know - if you can save the world in your pajamas, then you can save your life with a clear head.
David Razboršek, director of the VOZIM Institute, says that the number of accidents under the influence of alcohol among young people is decreasing. Soup! But... let's not open the sparkling wine yet. Drugs in traffic have become a new problem. According to the data, out of the 1,224 drug tests performed, as many as 170 drivers tested positive, and as many as 658 simply refused the test. They obviously think that by ignoring the problem, it will magically disappear. Hint: it won't.
Parents in pajamas, kids on a date with responsibility
This year the campaign addresses exactly what every teenager should have - plan B. And plan B has nothing to do with the last train home or "just one beer". No, Plan B means yes you have someone coming to look for you. And if you think this can't be your photo in your pajamas, think again.
dr. Albert and Leonida Mrgole from Zavod Vezal emphasize that trust is not built by exclaiming: "Call me anytime!" No, it is built by parents not creating drama if their child makes a minor mistake. If the only drama is on Netflix, then kids can call their parents in the middle of the night without fear. And to top it off – they get a free taxi!
Rock stars and responsible decisions? Yes, they go together!
This year, the campaign teamed up with Kris Guštin from the band Joker Out and his father Gušti. If you think that rock stars drive home after concerts, think again. He tells Gušti that already in his generation they had planned logistics. After the concerts, they did not go to the movie chase scenes, but calmly reached their destination in a van with an experienced driver. And he passed this practice on to Kris as well.
Kris adds that life in Ljubljana is like easy mode for a safe return home. A taxi? On foot? No problem. But let's not forget that in smaller places such an option is not always available. That's why it's all the more important for young people to know that their parents will always come looking for them. It's okay if you meet them in your pajamas - it's more important to meet them safely.
Voice of the youth: Why is alcohol still king?
While adults like to refer to tradition and "one glass doesn't hurt", young people are becoming more critical. Alojzija Sovič and Neža Pirjevec point out the absurdity of laws that allow young drivers to drink 0.0 alcohol, but after two years suddenly drink 0.24. Does a miraculous evolution of the brain happen in two years? Young people also notice that it is often their parents who drive under the influence - which is, frankly, a bad role model.
Sobriety simulation: Better on the simulator than on the road
Zavarovalnica Generali has also been supporting the project for years. At the meetings, with their simulator, they allow young people to experience how terrible driving skills are affected by alcohol. The result? The feeling that your reflexes are at the level of a sloth. Fortunately, only in a safe environment - and not on a real road.
Heroes of all generations
Campaign Heroes fuck in their pajamas it appeals not only to young people, but also to parents. Trust, communication and responsibility are values that save lives. So - the next time the phone rings at 2am, remember: it's better to get up in your pajamas than to cry in a black dress.
Because real heroes don't wear capes - they wear pajamas.
