Safe on the bike 2022: project winners announced

Butan gas has been encouraging young people to participate safely and actively in traffic for 10 years with the Safe on the Bike program. Again this year, they brought together more than 10,000 students from 140 Slovenian primary schools and introduced young cyclists to road traffic regulations through fun, innovative and themed tasks.

As part of the tasks they performed, they learned about traffic rules, prepared for safe entry into traffic, accumulated kilometers and at the same time competed for attractive and useful prizes. Their cycling bore fruit, as they brought practical prizes and rich experiences to the schools with their efforts.

The winners of the Safe on Bike 2022 project are:

For her work, she was rewarded with a €500 Butan gas donation and a bike service, donated by Zavarovalnica Triglav.

After two years of the remote program, it was time to meet again in person. About 300 students were welcomed by the moderator of the program in the Colosseum in Ljubljana Furlan Street, the ambassador of the Netherlands in Slovenia and representatives of the sponsors, who awarded prizes to the best. They were impressed by the music group Bepop and the cycling shenanigans presented by the team Flow Ramps.

Program manager Tanja Medved said at the end of this year's program: "We are happy that we are coming back again this year and hosting students at the final event and mingling with schools. For the last two years, this was not possible in this form, despite everything, we continued with the tender and completed it. The results are comparable to what we were used to in the pre-corona era."
