Samsung has reached number ten with the Galaxy S phones, so the anniversary edition has to be something special. The Galaxy S10 is not just one, but three phones that bring even more display and cameras, as well as technological leaps and new partnerships for additional services. This is what we expected - a revolution and not just an evolution.
For almost ten years, Samsung has sold more than two billion phones with the Galaxy brand, about a quarter of them from the Galaxy S family. For the anniversary, they prepared three models - Galaxy S10E, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. For the first time, the screen was pulled almost to the edge at the top and bottom, for which, among other things, the sensors and the front camera were hidden in a hole in the screen, which is cut by laser. It is also the first OLED screen with such a cut. At S10+ the front camera is dual, while the other two are single. S10 and S10+ they also have integrated into the screen sonic fingerprint reader, which is ultrasonic – mostly used by the competition optical - which supposedly makes it more reliable in strong sun and with wet fingers. The S10E has fingerprint recognition on the side.
The cheapest model in the series is also the only one with a flat screen, its diagonal is 5.8 inches. The remaining two have the now recognizable curved screen, which measures 6.1 inches in the S10 and 6.4 inches in the S10+. Screens can for the first time maximum brightness over a thousand nits (as much as 1200), offer fine-tuning of colors and optimization of contrasts according to content, and also support technology HDR10+ for streaming video recorded with these parameters to bring out the colors and light even more.
The last one camera is double with S10E, while more expensive models you get a triple, because in addition to the standard and close-up view, as with last year's S9+, they also allow ultra-wide, 123-degree shooting angle. With the help of the Super Steady function, it is possible to capture every moment without the image being moved. For video editing, Samsung has teamed up with Adobe to host Premiere Rush apps, and to make Instagram posting as easy as possible, there's a special in-camera mode that prepares everything on the fly.
Of course, wireless charging has remained, but now the phone can still transfer energy to another in this way. The phone supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard for the fastest connection to wireless networks, and the additional memory card can be as large as 512 GB.
The phones will be available in a vibrant color palette. The basic colors will be intense white, intense black, intense green, intense blue and vivid yellow. The most powerful S10+ model with as much as 1 TB of space for data will have a ceramic back, which can be either white or black.
Pre-sale of the new beauties starts tomorrow, the first buyers of the S10 or S10+ will also get the brand new completely wireless Galaxy Buds. The prices are as follows. The Galaxy S10E will cost 750 euros, the S10 900 euros and the S10+ around 1,000 euros.
