Samsung Neo QLED and MicroLED: new TVs for a sustainable and affordable future

Samsung Electronics unveiled its portfolio of Neo QLED and MicroLED TVs at a virtual First Look event. The new TVs confirm Samsung's commitment to sustainability and innovation, redefining the role of TVs in users' homes.

Samsung with new 8K and 4K TVs, it represents a completely new display technology, Neo QLED. Neo QLED includes a new light source - Quantum Mini LED, which is precisely controlled by Quantum Matrix technology and processor Neo Quantum. Samsung designed the Quantum Mini LED light to be 40 times lower than conventional LED light.

Quantum Matrix technology enables extremely fine and precise control over densely packed LEDs and prevents image errors. Neo QLED increases the light scale and thus contributes to the fact that they are dark areas darker and light areas brighter, which in turn provides a more accurate and engaging HDR experience. The Neo Quantum processor using 16 different neural network models, each incorporating AI Upscaling and Deep Learning technology, optimizes image quality to 4K and 8K resolution, regardless of input image quality.

Samsung Neo QLED

The Samsung Neo QLED 8K has a new design called Infinity One Design – offers an almost bezel-less display for a better viewing experience. The new TV also includes many premium audio features – from object tracking sound (OTS) to SpaceFit Sound technology, which analyzes the TV's physical environment and adapts the sound to your room.

A new era of beautiful image quality and design with MicroLED

Samsung MicroLED

Samsung with new TVs MicroLED brings to users an extraordinary visual experience on the next generation big screen. The MicroLED TV will initially be available with 279.4-centimeter (110") and 251.46-centimeter screens, but later also in smaller versions.

MicroLED uses micrometer-sized LEDs to eliminate backlighting and color filters used in conventional displays. It is self-illuminating with 24 million LED lights - individually controlled and produces stunningly true colors and brightness, and with a monolithic design, it offers more than 99% screen-to-frame ratio.

The MicroLED TV also offers a 4Vue (Quad View) function that allows users to watch do four different contents on one screen. It is possible to connect different devices to the TV and play content from completely different sources.

Enhanced lifestyle TVs

The new Samsung The Frame

Samsung also introduced the latest TV The Frame, which is even thinner and provides a more flexible experience. The new The Frame offers five frame color options and two different styles – so The Frame will integrate even better into every living room. And with a subscription to the all-new Samsung Art Store, you'll be able to enjoy more than 1,400 curated works.

A sustainable and accessible future for all

In the next few years, Samsung will strive to do business even more sustainably with the following programs:

  • Reducing the carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency: Samsung will strive to systematically reduce the overall carbon footprint in the production of TVs. The company will also strive for lower energy consumption by users and the use of more recycled materials.
  • Sustainable packaging design: Based on valuable user feedback, Samsung will apply the already award-winning eco-packaging design to all lifestyle TVs and most Neo QLED TVs. With this solution, up to 200,000 tons of corrugated boxes will be upcycled annually.
  • Solar panel remote control: Starting this year, Samsung TVs will include a solar-powered remote control that will charge with internal light. Over the next seven years, this will save 99 million AAA batteries in use (based on internal research). Samsung has introduced a special process for the manufacture of the remote control, which includes the use of plastic from recycled bottles - the process uses 24 percent of recycled plastic.
