The SandwichBike is a bicycle that you get in a package and assemble yourself. Similar to furniture at Ikea. It comes from the Netherlands, which is not surprising since more than 30 percent of the population use bicycles as their main means of transportation. The interesting concept was conceived by the Dutch designer Basten Leijh in 2006 and at the beginning of this year it reached commercial production for the whole world.
SandwichBike it measures 175 centimeters in length and 95 centimeters in height and weighs 17 kilograms. The frame is from beech wood, suitably processed for worse weather conditions, along with aluminum supports. The whole the package contains 52 parts and the necessary assembly tool. The company promises to assemble it in 45 minutes. They even have it on their website slogan, which reads: “If you can make a sandwich, you can definitely make a SandwichBike”. In terms of size, the bike is suitable for people between 160 and 200 centimeters high.
