The sculptural art of collapsible street stalls

Make Architect have created unique prefab stands that were first presented at London's Canary Wharf Ice Sculpture Festival earlier this year. They are characterized by exceptional resistance, adaptability, ease of use and an outstanding sculptural appearance.

The metal rectangular containers are opened and closed in a simple way, imitating an accordion, with the help of flexible hinges and folded aluminum plates. As he describes Sean Affleck, project manager at Make Architect, are theirs solutions of modern street stalls at first only unusual sculptures, but with a magnificent unfolding they reveal their essential purpose.

Exterior design it is robust, durable, easy to maintain and protected from street vandalism such as random graffiti. Spanning just under two meters in depth and three in width, the interior lines are drawn by steel frames and plywood, clad in additional layers for maximum solar energy utilization and comfortable insulation. Internal elements they are also fully adaptable to individual users, depending on their street sales activity, and at the same time can be quickly transformed for the next owners.

He also confirmed the exceptional lightness and easy portability Entech Environmental Technology Ltd, who simply brought the boy to the lively in a van Canary Wharf and finally put them together there.

Based on the art of origami "Open and Shut" the stands thus breathe a very special character into any location and brighten up social urbanity. See how in the gallery.
