Seat Leon x-perience for sporty and adventurous fathers

Seat Leon x-perience

Seat is a brand of the Volkswagen group with a distinctly sporty note, but here and there they also offer some off-road specials, such as the Altea freetrack years ago. Well, the Leon x-perience brings just the right replacement for the latter, as it brings an almost off-road ground clearance, always standard four-wheel drive and XDS, and prices from 23,670 euros.

Off-road inspired version of the Leon ST it will not be difficult to recognize it, as it is with a generous amount of terrain, higher occupancy on bikes and with this distance from the ground and height, significantly different from the wagon Leon. Somewhere halfway to Altee freetrack, replacing it, you could say, since the latter represented a crossover between a minivan and an SUV, Leon x-perience but it is a bit closer to personal vehicles, i.e. vans to limousines or caravan. The front part is so distinctly sporty, enhanced with full LED lights but also extremely prestigious, and the protection of exposed body parts in a combination of gray and black plastic makes a visual difference and ensures a better image of the vehicle. The difference is also the roof racks, which in the x-perienc, unlike the ST, are in black (and, for an additional fee, also made of anodized aluminum). Due to the off-road accessories, it is slightly longer than the aforementioned, but also 25 millimeters higher.

The off-road-inspired Leon ST can be recognized by its pronounced protection and slightly higher mounting on special 17" and 18" wheels. There are plenty of sporty touches and advancements, the latter certainly including full LED lights.

The same internal arrangement story Leon x-perience it says in the passenger cabin, which is slightly different higher seating with that easier entry practically identical to the one in Leon ST, and spaciousness and adaptability are written with a capital P, which means that it can easily meet the needs of a larger Slovenian family, who should not be too used to some large minivans and their (excessive) airiness in all directions. The trunk just confirms the family, as it is available from 587 and everything up to 1,490 liters useful space, and the seats are folded down by pulling only one lever, and only a touch is needed to move the roller blind.

The interior is very similar to the other three versions of the Leon, with the difference of a slightly higher seat and easier entry, and the door trims, which can also be covered in sports Alcantara (in the photo), are different.

To sit in the off-road version Seat Leon many testify inscriptions and logos X-perience or XP, and even more skilled eyes will notice a slightly different upholstery on the door, which can bring slightly different textile door trims, you also go to sports Alcantara. As for the equipment, the x-perience package is based on the style equipment package, which has been upgraded with special 17″ wheels, sporty front seats, 15 mm higher chassis, off-road accessories and version inscriptions and driving profile selection system. Among the accessories, we find all the advanced technology known from Leon, including full LED lights, radar cruise control, lane assist with steering assistance and advanced navigation high with wifi and function mirror link.

The spacious and tidy passenger cabin convinces, as do the materials and typical German ergonomics. However, the sharp angle of the windshield is a bit disturbing, which makes entry somewhat difficult, as tall people have to tilt their heads strongly to avoid hitting the edge.

The engine range (slightly reduced) borrows, as expected, from other versions of the Leon, which means that buyers can they choose between three diesel and one petrol engine, and all of them are supported by turbo technology and a start&stop system. The gas station is capable of 132 kW and standard DSG automatic transmission, and on the diesel side, the power range is from 81 to 135 kW, and the most powerful choice also comes with the standard DSG. However, electronic four-wheel drive is always part of the standard equipment, where fifth generation haldex clutch ensures optimal grip regardless of the surface and driving conditions, and the system works perfectly. Also because they are always part of the equipment XDS differential lock and the driving profile selection system.
