As every year, this year we are also looking forward to the twenty-seventh Druga Godba festival in a row. The concerts will take place in various locations in Ljubljana. Thus, the action will take place all the way from Cankarjev dom, Kino Šiška to the annual garden of Gala Hale on Metelkova. The opening of the concert event belonged to the Staff Banda Bilili group - a stellar group of musically talented paraplegics on tricycles. They live by the principle that the handicap is not in the body, but in the mind. This is what they will clearly show us when they dance to their rumba, which they skilfully complement with the rhythms of soul, funk and reggae. Vasko Atanasovski and the group Mljask will premiere the material for the new album. We will be seduced by a Moroccan living in Paris femme fatale of Berber descent, Hindi Zahra, who drove Europe crazy with her single Beautiful Tango and then with her debut album Handmade. The representative of engaged hip hop from Philadelphia and fellow traveler of The Roots Ursula Rucker will present to us the excellent album She Said. Before her concert, we will be musically tickled by the interesting local band Jimmy Barka Experience, consisting of drummer Marjan Stanič and DJs Bakto and Borka. Mari Kvien Brunvoll, one of the most notable Norwegian vocalists, is also expected to perform. Accompanied by four musicians, Mor Karbasi from Jerusalem will also perform, who will sing in Ladin, the language of Spanish Jews. The festival will be closed by Damir Imamović - a master of sevdah from Sarajevo.
