The three films in the sequels tell the story of Middle-earth sixty years before the events of The Lord of the Rings, which Jackson and his team immortalized on the screen in the highly successful trilogy - and with the third film, The Royal Return, won as many as eleven Oscars. At the end of last year, we watched the first of the trilogy The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and we expect the last, third part at the end of next year The Hobbit: There and Back Again.
