Photographer James Mollison opens our eyes with the "Where Children Sleep" project.
With a series of photos of children from all over the world and their extremely diverse sleeping environments, he shows us the diversity of their lifestyles, which definitely makes us think. While some children sleep in richly furnished bedrooms full of toys, clothes and electronic gadgets, others can be happy if they can find a place to lie down.
Mollison shows extraordinary intimately perspective, because by showing children's bedrooms, it gives us an insight into their culture and lifestyle and thereby highlights extreme opposites. While the 6-year-old Bedouin Bilal sleeps outdoors with his father's flock of sheep, the 4-year-old Japanese girl Kaya is dressed in cute clothes for which her mother spends more than 1,000 euros every month. Her bedroom is full of Japanese toys and beautiful dresses.
