The library of the National Museum of Slovenia – Prešernova, from February 6 to March 8, 2013
The February showcase of the month should take us back in our minds to the time of our childhood, when we trembled for the young goats at Grimm's fairy tales, looked forward to Cinderella's beautiful dress, wandered through the scary forest together with Little Red Riding Hood or anxiously waited for what would happen behind the nine mountains...
All these fairy tales, which were passed down through oral tradition from generation to generation, were collected by the famous Brothers Grimm. The year 2012 was a jubilee and fairytale year, as the first edition of Grimm's fairy tales was printed in 1812. This year - on September 20, it will be 150 years since the death of Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm! It is fitting that we also remember these two famous German ethnographers and linguists in the Library of the National Museum of Slovenia. We will put some interesting old books and children's magazines on display.
