Mallorca's secret gem: The Valldemossa luxury hotel in a beautiful Spanish village

Welcome to Hotel Valldemossa, which is the ultimate refuge for all romantics and lovers of well-being. It is located in one of the most beautiful Spanish villages, in the Tramuntana mountains of Majorca. A boutique hotel with only 12 rooms was given space in the building, which once served as the royal Carthusian palace. The most important guests spent their time here, including the composer Frédéric Chopin, who spent the winter here with his lover.

Opened in February 2024, the hotel is only for adults, who can comfortably accommodate themselves in just 12 rooms. But the main gem of the accommodation is not the prestige of the hotel interior, but the surrounding nature. The architecture and interior are designed with the environment and well-being in mind, in harmony with top art. Rooms feature traditional Spanish ceramics and wooden beams that elegantly frame mid-century Le Corbusier furniture.

Outdoor fitness is one of the highlights of the hotel, as it offers panoramic views and offers equipment for all kinds of sports activities. From great yoga mats to punching bags and other fitness equipment. Guests are offered a free yoga class every Saturday, and personal trainers are available by appointment. The hotel also has two swimming pools, the indoor one is available on request, while the outdoor one is surrounded by a row of deckchairs and the natural shade of trees.

The hotel's only restaurant is De Tokio a Lima, a popular Japanese-Peruvian-Mediterranean fusion concept by chefs Germano de Bernardi and Ricardo Rossi. The menu includes crispy shrimp fritters, umami tataki and classic ceviche. You can round it all off with a lemon meringue tart filled with sorbet made from local lemons from Sóller.
