This year's festival program, selected from productions by all Slovenian professional theaters, begins with the play Necropolis, based on the novel of the same name by Boris Pahor. At the same time, this poignant confession of a former internee is also the first play in the competition program. Selector Marko Sosič has included six other plays among those competing for the Šelig Award, which are distinguished by their distinctly original directorial reading: Strniš's Žabe directed by Jernej Lorenci, Cankar's Jakob Rudo directed by Sebastijan Horvat, Ivan Prijatelj's Totenbirt read by Mile Korun, Hlapce - a commented edition in collaboration with Anton Podbevšek Teatr and Prešeren's Theatre Kranj under the direction of Matjaž Berger, and the play based on actor improvisations Preklet naj bo tizacel svoje domovine!, which was originally staged by Matjaž Berger on the stage of the Slovenian Youth Theater. In the accompanying program, we can also see the production of the Koper Theater Da gospod, the play Dog, Pizda, Peder and 5fantkov.si from the MGL house and the Mystery of Women produced by the ŠKUC theater. The international program selection includes two Slovenian works produced by foreign theaters; the first is Zupančič's Vladimir, staged by the Theater Academy Ljuben Grojs from Sofia, the second is Nora Nora by Evald Flisar produced by the Lunar Eclipse Theater from Tokyo. Among the established contents of the additional program, such as the International Round Table of the Slovenian Center ITI and the book presentation, there are two other interesting events organized by students. In the reading performance of short scenes by the 2nd year students of the AGRFT Ljubljana, we will be able to see new faces who are starting their lives on the theater stage, and in the presentation of the drama circle of students of comparative literature, interesting derivations of ideas that arise when reading literature.
