Slow phone? There are several reasons why this one has slowed down its performance. Try some tricks to speed up your Android.
In the following, we present seven tips and tricks to "wake up" slow phone and speed up your Android!
Clear the cache
Every app you have on your phone stores its data in a cache. You don't need this data and you can delete it, because it might be responsible for the slow phone.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap on any available file category.
- Tap on each app.
- Tap the trash can icon and clear the cache.
Turn off animations in apps
Animations can slow down your smartphone, so install only the ones you really use and uninstall the ones you don't. Alternatively, you can try turning off animations in apps, for which you will need to turn on Developer Options in the settings.
- Tap Settings and then System.
- Tap About phone.
- Tap on Software Information.
- Tap Build number seven times in a row to enter developer mode.
- Enter your PIN (if you have one) and tap OK.
- Tap Settings, System, Developer options.
- Turn it on. You will receive a warning that this feature is for advanced users only.
- Scroll to Transition Animation Scale, Animation Duration Scale, and Window Animation Scale.
- Click on the buttons and turn off the animations, but you can set them here as you wish (larger, smaller).
Uninstall programs you don't use
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Apps (Apps Manager or Apps & Notifications).
- Touch the app you want to uninstall.
- Tap the Uninstall button for each such app.
- Tap Disable or Turn Off for those programs/apps that cannot be uninstalled.
- Repeat the process for all redundant applications.
Disable background apps
To turn off background apps you don't need, you need to turn on Developer options.
- Tap Settings and then System.
- Tap on Developer options and turn on the feature.
- In the Applications category, tap Background Check.
- Go through the list of applications, turn off the ones you don't need but are working in the background.
Delete old files
If you have been using your smartphone for a long time, then there are almost certainly files on it that you no longer need. How to delete them?
- Tap Settings, Storage, Storage.
- You will see different categories - Documents, Pictures, Videos, Audio...
- Select the desired category, click on it and select all those documents that you do not need and tap on the Delete icon.
Reward your operating system
It's also possible that your smartphone has slowed down because it doesn't have access to new upgrades to improve its performance.
- Tap Settings, then System Updates/Software Updates and check if a new update is available.
Reset your phone to factory settings
If all else fails, it's time to factory reset your phone. Before starting, back up important data and files to another device.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap System.
- Tap Back up to Google, then tap Back up now or Photos & videos.
- Wait until the backup is done.
- Restart your phone.
- Tap Settings, System, Reset.
- Tap Factory Reset.
