The puppet adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Knights was based on Pushkin's Tale of the Dead Empress and the Seven Knights (1833). In it, the poet drew inspiration from the well-known fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm, and then enriched his text with virtuoso rhymes, Russian folklore and new fairy-tale heroes. The original fairy tale was given new twists and tensions by Pushkin's poetry, but above all it is characterized by the nobility of Russian tradition, an insight into the life of knights, the vanity of royal courts and the power of supernatural forces. In Snow White and the Seven Knights, loyalty, love, envy and revenge will once again be tested to show their true colors and influence.
