Sony has introduced the long-awaited newcomer to the premium series of Alpha 7S full-frame mirrorless cameras - the Alpha 7S III. This combines superior image capture performance with the classic sensitivity typical of the "S" series.
Sony Alpha 7S III boasts an all-new full-frame resolution image sensor 12.1 MP (approximately, effective) with ultra-high sensitivity and a wide dynamic range of more than 15 levels of exposure. Videographers will also benefit from it, namely with the possibility of recording in resolution 4K 120p with 10-bit color depth and 4:2:2 sampling. The new sensor also complements it accordingly the new BIONZ XR image processor, which brings up to eight times more processing power and lower processing delay.
The new ones are also exciting heat dissipation mechanism and sequential recording on two memory cards, which allows more than one hour of recording in 4K 60p resolution, or until the battery runs out. But the list of novelties does not end there. They are still new auto focus system (fast hybrid autofocus is available for the first time in an Alpha 7S series camera), a touch screen interface, and a side-opening LCD screen. All this makes the Alpha 7S III the ultimate creative tool for professional videographers and all kinds of photo and video creators.
The new Alpha 7S III full-frame interchangeable-lens camera will be available in Europe September 2020 at an estimated retail price of approx 4,200 euros.
