The name Sony is known to everyone, but few of us would associate this name with the automotive world. In all probability, this would be done by gamers on the Playstation platform, while the rest would first think of the famous 'walkman', laptop, television or the aforementioned 'toy' platform. From CES 2020, this concept will also be different.
With the introduction of an autonomous electric car Sony Vision-S, association with the automotive world will now also be possible. The Japanese tech giant has built a prototype car to showcase theirs technologically progress in development sensors and fun technologies inside the car. The Sony Vision-S has just that 33 various sensors that control exterior, as well as interior car. With this, Sony placed a great emphasis on the advanced autonomous driving. We must not forget something else big ones screens inside, 360° audio system and connectivity, with which we will always be connected to the world. The Sony car is based on new ones electric platforms, on which we could also develop electric SUVs.
The Sony Vision-S was developed with the help of Magna Styer, and well-known companies such as Nvidia, Continental, Bosch and others. Sony hasn't been generous with technical information, but they did reveal to us that it has a car couple electric motors with power 200 kW, which run Vision-S from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The maximum speed is 240 km/h. Sony continues to remain in the technological waters and does not venture into the world of motoring. The Vision-S prototype is just to show how much technological progress have achieved with the brand over the years Sony.
