In October 2013, André Heller, one of the best versatile multimedia artists, embarked on a seven-month journey through Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the latest production of the international spectacle AFRICA! AFRICA!
In the past, viewers have already received it insanely well, critics have given it the title one of the most successful shows in the last twenty years. If in 2006 the spectacle conquered under the tent canvas, this time it moved to the stage.
André Heller said that when he thought about reviving the spectacle, one thing was clear to him - no more tent and no more endless non-stop tours. He thus found the best solution in the creation of high-quality and innovative stage spectacle, who does not stay in any city for more than a week.
The latest AFRICA! AFRICA! combines the highlights of the legendary spectacles from 2006 and 2008, to which spectacular attractions have been added. Obviously highly anticipated, as the first 40,000 tickets for the first 15 venues of this tour were sold out in less than eight weeks.
The play brings more than 70 artists from 14 countries and promises an even more eclectic and spectacular atmosphere than it was seven years ago. For the first time, a wall made of LED lights. With three LED elements spread over 140 square meters, Heller creates images, emotions and impressions of "Africa's past and present, its madness, beauty, intensity, dreaminess".
The costumes, which carry a strong note in the spectacle, are the work of African fashion designers, and the live music in the spectacle is provided by well-known African musicians. AFRICA! AFRICA! is most likely to be in March, namely the spectacle is coming to Graz.
