Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as Sting, is coming to Ljubljana. Who would have thought that a former milkman (he helped his father deliver milk to households in his early youth) and later an elementary school teacher would make such a mark on the world music scene. He got his name Sting while playing with the jazz band Phoenix Jazzmen. He wore a yellow sweater with black stripes and looked like a bee to the band leader. Since then, Sting has also been (stinging) for his family. The eighties were marked by his work in the band The Police. In the mid-eighties, he had already recorded his first solo album and success was assured. He will stop here as part of the Symphonicity European tour. We will hear his greatest musical creations, arranged for performance with a symphony orchestra. The Police's hits, such as Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Roxanne, Next To You and Every Breath You Take, will be given a completely new musical makeover. Of course, there will also be hits from Sting's solo career, such as Englishman in New York, Fragile, Russians, If I Ever Lose My Faith in You, Fields Of Gold, Desert Rose and many others. In addition to the symphony orchestra, he will also be accompanied on tour by long-time musical collaborators. He will be accompanied on guitar by his musical friend Dominic Miller, his long-time percussionist Rhani Krija will provide rhythms of all kinds and musical traditions, Jo Lawry will support him on vocals, while Ira Coleman will be in charge of bass antics. In the Stožice hall, we will also have a special VIP category available, which promises us not only premium seats in the front rows, but also a gift. Regardless of where we secure our seat in the hall, we are sure to be in for a real musical treat that we simply cannot miss.
