The exhibition presents a collection of 18th and 19th century ceramic tableware, which the Koper Regional Museum has acquired either through purchases or donations since its founding in 1911, and was presented to the public on the occasion of the museum's centenary. Many of the previous owners of the exhibited dishes are extremely interesting, as among them we find the names of townspeople who were active in economic, political or cultural life in Slovenian Istria at the beginning of the 19th century, as well as the names of old Koper noble families. At the exhibition you can see objects originating from various parts of Europe. They most often arrived in Koper or Istria from northern Italy and by sea on merchant ships, namely from England, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, while some material shows an East Asian origin. In terms of quality, they belong to the medium category; They are mostly the product of serial or even mass production in industrialized plants, since ceramics is one of those industrial branches that first switched to mass production. However, among them we also find products of the most important and highest quality European ceramic manufacturers, such as: the French Royal Manufactory of Sèvres, the Imperial Manufactory of Vienna, the German Villeroy&Bosch, the English Davenport, Wedgwood..., there is also the so-called Italian production from Treviso, Pordenone, Venice, Trieste... A special group is represented by "unspecified" objects whose origin and manufacturer are unknown.
