The history of Celje, especially the triumphant and then rapidly collapsing period of the Counts of Celje, has always stirred the imagination of creators; the love affair between Veronika from Desenice and Frederick II. To Celjski, it is like a love story between Romeo and Juliet, which, like the story of the famous Verona couple, ends tragically. The performance is thus another in a series of interpretations of the eternally celebrated historical love between Friderik and Veronika. By a small margin. This time it comes from the pen of Celjan, Miha Alujevič, who also directed the play on stage.
