The Summer Festival at NUK revives the Plečnik atrium in the National and University Library, a hidden gem in the very center of Ljubljana. In addition to numerous musical and other events, a Bring-Take-it book exchange fair will take place on July 20.
The worst thing about new books is the fact that they prevent us from reading the old ones, wrote the French essayist Joseph Joubert. The good side of all books is that, regardless of the year of publication, they are always new to someone. You will be able to go on a book shopping spree, which will not cost you anything, on July 20, when it will take place in front of Ljubljana's NUK Bring-take-away book fair.
The idea is obvious: you bring your book and exchange it for another at the fair. All books are welcome, those given as gifts, unread as well as those that have been leafed through hundreds of times and quoted the most. At the event, you will socialize with book lovers, get involved in literary debates, exchange recommendations for further reading or simply retreat to your own and dive into the opening lines of the newly acquired book wealth. And remember that good books are rarely dusty.
