The European car market has experienced a symbolic, almost historic shift this year: plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) have overtaken diesel engines for the first time. While diesel was virtually untouchable a decade ago, today it ranks only fourth and seems to be rapidly creeping towards the periphery of the automotive world. In the first ten months of 2025, diesel's market share fell to just 8 percent, while PHEVs - Plug-in hybrids - are already reaching 9.4 percent and confidently taking over its former position.

If Volvo and Range Rover had a child who was educated in China and spoke fluent English with a Swedish accent, it would probably be the Lynk & Co 08. A plug-in hybrid SUV that is emerging in Europe as a new branch of the Geely family – the same group that also owns Volvo and Zeekr. And yes, Lynk & Co is here to shake up established European ideas about what premium means. And what a plug-in hybrid can be. So the Lynk & Co 08 test.
The Volvo XC60 has long been the king of Swedish roads – the brand’s best-selling model, winning hearts with its blend of elegance and practicality. But the competition is not sleeping: the BMW X3, Mercedes GLC and Audi Q5 are fresh and razor-sharp. Can the updated XC60, with its new look, improved interior and hybrid heart, still keep up? The Jeep Grand Wagoneer has always been synonymous with American luxury on wheels — the kind of car you park in front of your country house and watch your neighbors gasp with a glass of bourbon. Now, for 2026, it returns with a new, electrified soul and a single name: Grand Wagoneer.
The updated Lynk & Co 01 (2025) brings a sharper design, more technology and an improved plug-in hybrid drive. In practice, it is a compact SUV with up to 75 kilometers of electric range, system power of 276 hp and 535 Nm of torque. With the More equipment version, it competes with the best in its class – the Volvo XC40, VW Tiguan and Toyota RAV4.
In a world where electricity and petrol often stand on opposite sides, something emerges that brings them together in a stunning symphony of power, elegance and technology. It's the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P – a plug-in hybrid that proves the future isn't black and white, but a brutally interesting mix of both.
Almost a decade on the scene and still a gentleman in the front row. The Volvo XC90 Recharge T8 is facelifted, electrified and clearly in top form: quiet, fast and above all – calmly confident. After 1,250 km with it, I can say: I felt like a real gentleman.
Europeans love vans. BYD knows this. The BYD SEAL 6 DM-i Touring is aimed squarely at the Passat and Superb: electric most of the time, petrol when the road demands more. And it does so with a promise of up to 1,350 km of range.
Imagine a car that's like a French lover: elegant, a little arrogant, but always ready for adventure. With an electric range of up to 450 km and engines for every taste, this is a car that proves that the French still know how to make a vehicle worth coveting. But will it beat its German competition? Read on to find out.
Audi continues the trend of "coupe" SUVs that began with the BMW X6 18 years ago. The new Q3 Sportback lowers the roofline for a more dynamic look, but sacrifices space and practicality. With the same engines as the standard Q3, including a hybrid, it remains in the fight with the BMW X2, while we wonder if the styling is really worth the compromise.
The new Volvo XC70 rolled off the assembly line in Taizhou, pre-sales begin on August 27 in Chengdu. Under the hood: the new SMA Super Hybrid Architecture, 3-motor drive and 3-speed DHT. Literally Swedish rationality on a Chinese battery.
The cabin of the Karma Amaris GT Coupé is revealed for the first time and acts as a lounge for technophiles: a “squircle” steering wheel with a visible carbon rim, capacitive buttons, digital gauges in front of the driver, a large infotainment screen in the middle, a third screen in front of the passenger. A gear selector “floats” on the tunnel. The example on display is a two-seater, dressed in Crimson Orbit leather and Alcantara, with plenty of carbon and piano black, and the luggage rack in the back is designed for travel bags. The roof? Electrochromatic darkening, like sunglasses for the whole car.
