Against Slovenian whitewater canoeist Benjamin Savšek and kayaker Petar Kauzer, the Jeep Renegade SUV would not have a real chance on whitewater, but its ability to cope with the most difficult terrains (including crossing water) is still impressive. He proved this in an attractive demonstration with Aimee Fuller, a well-known British snowboarder, who used a compact sport utility vehicle to tackle the raging water on the water range for the Olympic whitewater descent.

Jeep is betting on its tradition, and that's why it looks back in history and looks for inspiration for future models in some legendary vehicles from the past. The Jeep Crew Chief 715 Concept draws inspiration from the Wrangler model and from the brand's historic vehicles that were used by the military as multi-purpose vehicles.
California-based boutique automaker, US Specialty Vehicle, makes civilian versions of armored vehicles suitable for driving on ordinary roads. Their latest product is the Rhino XT off-roader, a Jeep Wrangler on steroids that took its body styling cues from its 'idol', the Hummer HX. The military appearance is only a disguise, as the vehicle under the "powder and lipstick" is completely serial.
The new Jeep concept SUV Chief is based on the Wrangler model, but its source of inspiration was the Cherokee model from the early seventies (1974). The Chief has many retro elements, a chrome grille and four passenger seats, and is dedicated to the aforementioned Cherokee, which dates back to the days when Jeep was still under the umbrella of American Motors Corporation (AMC). It brings a good combination of retro and modern touches and plenty of advanced technology. The Cherokee is Jeep's mid-size SUV, which in its fourth generation wants to be an even bigger thorn in the side of the fifth fashionable but less off-road capable European competition. Two diesel engines and a six-cylinder gasoline engine are available, and buyers can also choose between two transmissions and three versions of 4WD drive. Prices start at 30,000 euros.
The name is Jeep's Cherokee model was named after the legendary Indian people more than three decades ago. And that's when it was this model that started the SUV segment and laid the foundation for it. This time, the 4th generation Cherokee is coming to the market, which brings many innovative technological solutions, off-road efficiency and safety. Jeep is coming back with big strides and thus trying to set new standards in the class. Will the legend succeed?
After Jeep offered the new Cherokee to Americans last year, it will soon be the turn of buyers on the old continent. The American specialist for off-road vehicles is expanding downwards, among the younger clientele and in general into the segment of smaller SUVs. The importer of the Jeep brand brought the renegade to us at first only for a short time, but starting in the fall, it will mix up the tough competition among smaller SUVs. 2WD as well as 4WD versions available. Prices are still unknown.
The Tunning company, which specializes in converting products with a Jeep badge on the nose, presented the ultimate off-road vehicle based on the current Wrangler. The Unlimited nighthawk version is dressed in a special matte gray color, has 22-inch rims and low-profile tires, and on the nose is a winch similar to those used by the US military.
