Kickstarter is an online platform where various products and projects of budding creators collect public funds by convincing investors to provide them with funds to start a business. And since there is no recession for ideas even in Slovenia, quite a few brave and optimistic Slovenian individuals or teams went to Kickstarter with their projects. Some were more, others less successful, but this did not stop their business journey. This time, we present the most popular Slovenian projects on Kickstarter, which gained enough supporters and funds to start successful production.

Scoutee is a Slovenian baseball speedometer, which recently started its Kickstarter company, with which it wants to raise 50 thousand US dollars to start production. The start is encouraging, but the ball is round, as they say, so the team must not chill the champagne yet. It is a radar device that measures the speed of the ball used in baseball (it is expected to measure other types of balls in the future), and their target group in the first phase is aspiring baseball players as well as coaches.
iScream is a Slovenian ice cream machine that did extremely well on Kickstarter. In two days, he collected one hundred thousand dollars. And what makes iScream so special? The homemade ice cream machine works by leaving its freezing unit in the freezer overnight, and the next day it is put into the machine, the ingredients are added to it, and the machine mixes and cools them. The device, which is capable of preparing two different flavors of ice cream at once, is also very elaborate in design.
The Lesenjača is a wooden bicycle of Slovenian origin, behind which the up-and-coming Mika Kovač and his parents stand, and it was created in the family carpentry studio 4MK. The Lumberjack's journey to Kickstarter is an interesting one, as it all started in the 2nd year of high school, when Mike and the rest of the class were given an assignment to make something out of wood. Since Mike is a cyclist at heart, a wooden bicycle was the first thing that came to his mind, and his home workshop also came up with the idea. The result is worth not only a high five, but also financial support, don't you agree?
Our society has become lazy recently. We have applications that do practically everything for us or for us, or remind us of tasks that we should remember to do ourselves. Paris-based MNTNT has created something that will bring our brains back to life – they have designed the Albert digital wall clock to help us improve our math skills. It is currently raising funds on the crowdfunding portal, Kickstarter.
Given that smartphones have largely replaced digital cameras, it makes sense that more and more photography gadgets are adapting to them. One such example is the lightbox Lightcase Pro, a collapsible portable photo studio for smartphones, which is therefore the right choice for all those who want to take professional photos of objects with a smartphone. It is available on Kickstarter.
Say goodbye to bulky bike racks and say hello to TrunkMonkey, the world's most portable inflatable bike rack. When not in use, use the air compressor to deflate it like a water cushion, store it in the included bag, which can be attached to the bicycle seat holder or stored in a backpack or trunk. You can pre-order yours on Kickstarter.
There are enough angry drivers on the road; it's time to give some smiles. MotorMood is a small glowing emoticon, a "smiley", which we stick on the back window of our car. His job is to say "thank you" to other drivers on the road for us. He is currently smiling on Kickstarter, where the project is raising funds for co-financing.
The Slovenian SipSup glass is the first social glass in the world, as it connects to a smartphone and serves us memories in addition to a drink. Miha Petek, Anže Volovšek and Aleš Perme are behind the project of the interactive glass, and the glasses themselves are made in Steklarna Hrastnik and are not only technologically sophisticated, but also of high quality. The success of the Kickstarter campaign, where SipSup will raise startup funds for 42 days, seems imminent.
The flexible wooden children's chair Froc, the result of a collaboration between the design agency Gigodesign and the pond company Rimarket, will be even more lively from now on. In addition to stable and safe seating for children - they can sit on it from the age of six months up to the age of ten - parents will be offered monitoring of the child's weight. Smart Froc, which is entirely developed and manufactured in Slovenia, will also be presented on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter in the fall.
Every man's secret desire is to become a cavalier. We used to do it with horses, today we reflect cavalry in a completely different way, with a watch. Unfortunately, many watches are unaffordable, especially for young people. Accordingly, Luka Badalič and Luka Žgajnar designed a watch that reflects quality, elegance and affordability. Chevall Watches are three different watches in one, designed for three different occasions.
Christophe Caranchini, who founded, among other things, the French studio Archi_Pixels, brings the towel we've been waiting for to our beaches - the Big Towel is thus the largest beach towel. A large, practical, light, comfortable and generally user-friendly towel is raising funds on the crowdfunding portal, Kickstarter.
