Kino Park 2016 is approaching, an open-air cinema in Ljubljana's Tabor Park, which has transformed from an accompanying program into an independent event and is slightly bigger every year. Park Tabor, or more precisely, the ŠD Tabor sports field will turn into an annual cinema this year between August 29 and September 4, 2016, when 15 projections will be shown on the screen. Admission is free, the number of seats is limited, and your own chairs are more than welcome.

The annual cinema on Kongresni trg is definitely an open-air cinema with the most beautiful scenery in the world! Again this year, in the middle of the capital, for three consecutive nights (from August 23 to August 25, 2016), we will be able to enjoy three screenings for free, three film classics that you simply must see in this magical environment. Let's see what the annual cinema on the Congress Square 2016 has to offer.
The auto show is returning to Ljubljana after a long break. The Ljubljana Motor Show 2017 will be hosted by the Gospodarska raztavišče between March 27 and April 2, 2017. The last time a motor show was hosted in Slovenia was in Celje, way back in 2006, and for the last motor show in the capital, we have to go even further back in history, namely 17 years ago!
All those who like to have coffee and sit around the market will welcome the new acquisition of the Ljubljana market. The Magda bar recently opened on the corner of the covered market, which through minimalism reflects the authenticity and freshness of the fruit and vegetables that are sold just a stone's throw away. In addition to a dose of caffeine (they say you'll get the best espresso in town, made from special beans that can also be purchased), you can also treat yourself to something stronger.
The world-renowned Slovenian-Croatian duo 2Cellos, consisting of Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, will perform their first arena show in Ljubljana on April 7 and 8, 2017, in the Stožice Arena in Ljubljana. Apart from Belgrade, the Slovenian capital will be their only outpost in the former Yugoslavia, so don't miss the concert spectacle and get your tickets in time (they go on sale on July 21, 2016). It goes without saying that they will sell out quickly, but we can add that they recently played in Zagreb in front of a crowd of 50,000 people, so it can happen that the Arena crowd will be too small for everyone who wants to listen! At the concert, the duo will present their biggest hits, but there will also be new, upcoming material that is currently being created in the studio.
While the rest of the world is crazy about Pokemon, Ljubljana has been gripped by footiemania. #LJfootie is a project of the city municipality of Ljubljana as part of the green capital of Europe, which encourages people to post photos of their feet on Slovenska cesta on Instagram, tag them with #LJfootie and thereby participate in the selection of photos for the exhibition, which will be held in September 2016, and weekly prizes. Have you made your own #LJfootie yet? What are you waiting for?
Car sharing — Ljubljana — The people of Ljubljana will share BMW, Renault and Smart for new mobility
Ljubljana is one of the first in Europe to get a long-awaited project — 100 % electric car sharing. It is one of the fastest growing trends in the global automotive industry. Electric car sharing the model was presented by the company Avant car with the support of partners and thus represents the mobility solution Avant2Go. In the first year, 50 BMW, Renault and Smart electric vehicles will be driving through the streets of Ljubljana — which should relieve the capital by 500 to 1,000 vehicles. The start of the service, which will lead the people of Ljubljana into a new era of mobility, is expected at the beginning of next month. The minimum rental price starts from three euros.
The 23rd international festival of creativity Zlati Boben, organized by the Slovenian Advertising Chamber between 18 and 21 October 2016, is moving from Portorož to Ljubljana, directly to the Ljubljana Castle, after 22 years.
Today, Ljubljana has come to life again as a city of wine and vines. On June 17, 2016, the 58th international wine evaluation - Vino Ljubljana, which is considered the oldest such evaluation in the world, began at the Ljubljana Castle. Ljubljana wine is also among the 10 most elite ratings in the world. The International Wine Fair 2016 will also be held as part of Vina Ljubljana from 20 to 21 October 2016.
The biggest spectacle in beach volleyball in Slovenia is approaching. Ljubljana Beach Volley Challenge 2016 will take place between July 28 and 30, 2016, when Kongresni trg will once again turn into a beach in the middle of Ljubljana, not long after hosting a 150-meter water slide. World-class volleyball players are coming to visit again, so there will be no shortage of top volleyball this time either.
Do you think that's okay? is a campaign by the city of Ljubljana, which in a comical way raises awareness among dog owners about the collection of dog excrement. These are often the subject of dispute between the townspeople. Many times (although thankfully less and less) we see owners who are busy looking in the other direction or at their phone while their puppy poops, but when the furry one makes its way, they are quickly blown away from the scene of the crime. The owner of the dog must be transparent and responsible, which such behavior is definitely not, so MOL appeals to dog guardians to pick up dog excrement after their pets, because some child also wants to play on the green behind them.
