Movies based on comic book superheroes are revealed one after the other (Suicide Squad, Batman v. Superman, Captain America...). The last in the series is X-Men: Apocalypse (X-Men: Apocalypse), which is also the last film from the X-Men franchise in which Jennifer Lawrence will appear as the mutant Mystique. Bryan Singer (Traffickers) sat in the director's chair once again, and he has already become quite at home in this role. In the new sequel, we see old (Professor X, Mystique, Magneto...) and new faces as they must deal with the ancient mutant known as Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac).

In 2016, the epic story The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) comes to the screen, based on a book proposal by the famous author Roald Dahl (Matilda, The Wonderful Fox, Gremlins, The Witches, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and filmed by the famous director Steven Spielberg, whose last work , Bridge of Spies, you can still catch in Slovenian cinemas. The BFG is an adaptation of a children's story, which we translated in Slovenia as VDV (Veliki benošen velikan).
The Legend of Tarzan is considered one of the most anticipated films of 2016. There are countless reasons for that, and that's without even watching the first trailer. The film was signed by David Yates, who already impressed us with the Harry Potter films (he directed the last four), then there are Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, Battleship) as Tarzan, Robbie Margot (Suicide Squad, The Wolf of the Wall Street) as Jane, and Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight) and Christoph Waltz, who last played the main villain in the new James Bond film (Spectre). It is a modern version of a classic story that takes place far from the African wilderness.
The British film Eye in the Sky tackles the issue of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, aka drones, which have become a new-age weapon, but which causes a lot of controversy. Attacks with these types of aircraft seem like a computer game, but leave behind a lot of collateral damage. The thriller stars Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul, Alan Rickman and Barkhad Abdi, and Gavin Hood hovers over the drone warfare film like the drones above our heads.
The Nice Guys is a genre minecraft of crime, thriller, comedy and action. And if the fact that Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe appear in the film does not convince you, the fact that the film was directed by Shane Black, who gave us one of the best movie police duets with the Lethal Weapon film series, and signed is also under Iron Man 3. This time he returns with a duet, which is slightly different from the one played by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Gosling and Crowe are not quite as nice guys as the title tries to make us believe.
The action comedy Central Intelligence is another one of those comedies with a comedic cop couple that Hollywood has served up countless times (The Heat, The Other Guys, 21 Jump Street are just the last few). Despite the premise that has been chewed over so many times, it seems that Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart will provide a breath of fresh air and that we will not leave the theaters unsatisfied and with the feeling that we have seen this movie before. Yes, the critics will probably tear him to shreds, but who doesn't want to see the otherwise chiseled Dwayne Johnson as a cute chubby high school kid?
The Finest Hours is an epic Disney disaster movie based on the 2009 book of the same name by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias. It is the true story of the 1952 Pendleton rescue mission, when a storm tore the tanker in half. The film stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Eric Bana.
Finding Dory is the sequel to the animated hit Saving Little Nemo, which follows the cute little fish Dory, who "stole the show" in the 2003 animated cartoon with her supporting role, and 13 years later she returns to the big screen in the main role. After finding Nemo, we will now be looking for the very talkative but forgetful Dory, voiced again by comedian Ellen DeGeneres, which promises a new dose of fun for the whole family.
London Has Fallen is a sequel to the hit film Olympus Has Fallen, in which Gerard Butler once again took on the role of Secret Service agent Mike Banning. While in the first part he had to protect the American president from an attack and infiltration of the North Korean army into the White House, now, promoted to the head of the American secret service, who follows the president like a shadow, he must face an even more difficult challenge and protect the president from terrorists in London, where, in addition to the most influential man in the world, other political leaders of the world are gathered.
Criminal Activities is an American crime drama in which Jackie Earle Haley, who has an enviable acting career, made his camera debut. Among other things, he performed the famous Freddy Krueger. This time too, he jumped ahead, but left the main role to John Travolta as a gangster and a naive four high school friends (Dan Stevens, Michael Pitt, Christopher Abbott and Rob Brown) whose lives are turned upside down by a foolish investment.
The video game Warcraft (Blizzard Entertainment) has grown into a real social phenomenon in 21 years (1994), so it is logical that the film adaptation of this video game franchise is so highly anticipated. From computer screens, the epic adventure moves to the big screen in June 2016, when we will return to the time of the outbreak of war between humans and orcs. The burden of the (unrealistically) high expectations of the film was borne by Duncan Jones, who had previously proven himself with the films Luna and Source Code.
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is a true-life action thriller directed by the father of non-stop action Michael Bay (Alcatraz, Transformers, Ninja Turtles), a director known for blowing things up. 3 Arts Entertainment Bay Films made a lot of money for it, as the production of the film cost almost 40 million US dollars. But this is how Michael Bay does it, for whom this is the first war (but not biographical) film. Big budget and spectacular. The story revolves around a group of soldiers trying to secure the American embassy in the Libyan city of Benghazi.
