What's new in town...? A new skin for our special City Limited Edition. We recently blew out ten candles on our cake and wanted something new, fresh, chic... unlimited, endless, unique and unique... We decided to start the new decade with a new (change) outfit, with a changed design, and the same vision .
We have already changed the tires on the cars to winter ones, smoke is already coming out of the chimneys and these days some people would rather have those rain drops replaced by snowflakes, and the nearby hill whiten with snow, at least by a centimeter or two, and the atmosphere would be completely different . Otherwise, I don't mind that it's above average warm outside, but I'd rather see my fingers get cold than watch the daily news with sad stories every day.
Autumn is that time of the year when, walking through the streets, you can smell countless different smells everywhere, wafting from the kitchens of the houses of the old town. If the smell of cinnamon and cloves and mulled wine are harbingers of winter, autumn with the smell of chestnuts is not only a winter overture, but a class of its own in the culinary realm of flavors and images. It's a time when the tables are full of goodies, and homemade strudel calls for researching old grandmother's recipes and looking for that little, mysterious, great thing that brings even distant moments from the past back.
Time is spinning, at least that's how the hands on the clock show, and we have also "turned back" the years, the first decade. For the first time, our urine pointers turned ten years ago, on Monday, October 25, when you could find and flip through the urban freebie City Magazine for the first time in your city. During this time, s(m)o prepared more than 190 issues and printed 7,600 pages of content in more than 13,300,000 copies.
It was once a hotel of lust and a designer's paradise... It's Friday. I'm sitting in the office, the hands of the clock show half past three, and the loud "peak" can be heard on the radio, announcing the daily news and, of course, the weather. "The weekend that follows will be sunny and beautiful, after a long time one of the few when we can leave the umbrellas at home, and above all it will be ideal for one last jump in the sea, because the outlook for next week is no longer so sunny and rosy."
High temperatures gave way to cold ones already at the height of summer, sunburns and frizzy hair were overcome by the cold wind, warning that autumn is here. And what will we wear this season? Coats! Orange, yellow, neon, pastel, red...
55 tips for a summer escape, this is what we offer you with the edition of our summer issue, which will accompany you during the endless holidays and guide you to city events, to music festivals and concerts, to a movie night or street theater, to a visit to an exhibition , to clubs, for an urban stroll or a city stop, for a cocktail or ice cream...
It seems that my mind is already flooded with a "beach" program, as one of the actors in the gambling commercial calls it, and it seems that my life battery is already deep in the red zone, "coughing" those, just a little bit more useful, energy atoms. It will have to last until July 13, when the last poker cards will fall and the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro will finally serve the winner of the grand final in football, and Slovenia will serve the results of the national assembly elections, among other things.
Oh, Brazil, Copacabana, samba and bossa nova, exotic flavors, naked bodies and football. It already sounds too fairy-tale, almost kitschy, as if following the script of some telenovela, and if the land of endless sandy beaches really becomes the host of the World Cup in football, then it is worth making an effort to score a goal in the opponent's net, just to be there.
"Don't let us forget that there was once a city, brilliant for a brief time, it was known by the name of Camelot." It is a famous phrase from the musical of the same name by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, which was based on a book proposal by TH Whit. Where stands the famous castle with the famous round table of King Arthur and his knights, where stories of honor, betrayal and passions were woven, remains a mystery, and our heads are full of them, where imagination and dreams reside, in which almost always there is one place we long for.
Have you already rested from the busy festive atmosphere, receiving and giving gifts, good wishes and words that the next year will definitely be better than the last? Have you checked out the stores during sales? Have you already tasted the joys of winter and made your first turns on the white slopes?
The switch-on of the Christmas lights remains ahead of us, which is awaited with equal impatience, no more or less, by both adults and children. From the almost expiring year, only fragments remain, which are anything but a lull before the marathon night.
