What do you have planned for next week? And next year? Have you ever thought about what you will be doing in 250 million years? Probably not. But you might be wondering what the Earth will look like then. 250 million years is enough for its face to change as well. So many years ago, a meteorite flew to our planet, wiped out 90 percent of all living things and left an imprint in the form of a crater in Antarctica. But that is the past.

That the environment and climate are changing is nothing new. That this process is taking place with terrible haste, neither. But it is worrying. National Geographic says that if we continue at this pace, the ice at both poles and in the mountains will soon be gone. What would Earth look like if all the ice melted?
The sparrows on the branches are already chirping that our planet is facing problems, including pollution. We seem to know how to draw attention to this in all possible creative ways. Well, maybe it is precisely the creative way that will push us forward. At Taiwan's Faculty of Arts, three students came up with a way to show the problem of Earth pollution. They called it "Polluted Water Popsicles" or "Polluted Water Lollipops".
"As long as poverty, injustice and inequality persist in the world, none of us can truly rest!" said the great Nelson Mandela. Do we see all these phenomena only in TV reports and have we become so used to news about them that we have become indifferent to them or accept them as something normal? Do we cringe at them because we find them absurd? Maybe it's time to write down a list of facts that we've 'bought' as normal over time, but we shouldn't.
Since 2001, Google Earth has made it possible to explore the most remote areas of the world directly in the browser. A few days before World Earth Day, Google introduced the ninth version that offers 3D guided tours.
As you probably know, NASA recently discovered seven planets that are remarkably similar to Earth. The US space agency is now looking for names for them, and you can help them. We would name the planets in the Trappist-1 system Grumpy, Giggle, Sleepy, Doubtful, Sweetheart, Earful, and Know-it-all, after the seven dwarfs from the timeless tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. What suggestion do you have?
That the world is full of beauty probably doesn't need to be explained in particular, does it? In all our haste, people seem to forget where we live. Take some time today to watch this wonderful video. Then look around you and feel the beauty of our Mother Earth. Don't worry, it will only take you 2 minutes.
Last night and tonight, the night sky was lit up by a super moon (an extremely large full moon), the likes of which we haven't seen since 1948 and won't until 2034. If you missed it, we've prepared for you a selection of the most beautiful super moon photos taken in different parts of the world.
Want a replica of the golden gramophone record that explains humanity to aliens? In 1977, the American agency NASA had a big dream. They wanted to find the Aliens and make contact with them. With this purpose, the probes Voyager I and Voyager II were sent into space, which also carried a time capsule in the form of a golden gramophone record, which carries images of our civilization and teaches about humanity. Among other things, about how we reproduce, how we transport ourselves and what we eat. We greet the aliens in 55 languages (also in Serbo-Croatian, which was the official language of Yugoslavia at the time: "We wish you all the best from our planet"), and they can also play different genres of music and typical sounds of our planet. There are playback instructions on the back of the disc. On the 40th anniversary of the launch, you can for approx. For 90 euros, consider the jubilee replica of The Voyager Golden Record: 40th Anniversary Edition, which also comes with a book.
The earth is 4.5 billion years old, humanity no more than 140 thousand years old. Let's put this into perspective. If we squeeze the existence of the Earth into 24 hours, we humans have been on this planet for 3 seconds. Yes, 3 seconds! Less than the length of a Vine clip! And look what we did in those three seconds! Inspirational video Man vs. Earth will open your eyes and change your outlook on life forever!
Although it sounds utopian that one day the world will be ruled by only one government and all the inhabitants of the Earth will be "fellow citizens", the idea is not so far-fetched. Namely, when we look at the matter from a little further, and we mean physically further, i.e. from space, and when we throw in the progress in technology, it no longer sounds like a romantic idea. Imagine that there are countless habitable planets and planets with life out there. And then the planets become what we call countries today. Will humans then come together and present themselves as citizens of the Earth? If so, what would our flag be, i.e. the flag of planet Earth? Check.
For a change, we have civil society and not the United Nations to thank for celebrating World Earth Day on April 22 every year, when activists around the world tell governments what needs to be done in the environmental field. Every vote in times of recession is somehow important, because even ecological projects have become its hostage. But the Earth is not waiting, sustainable measures should have been adopted yesterday. Too few people realize that we only borrowed the planet from our descendants and that it is not our property.
