The annual TED conference hosts the world's leading thinkers and doers, who deliver their ideas in the form of speeches lasting from 3 to 18 minutes. An independent, local TEDx event works to spark deep discussion within a small group.
TED is a place where ideas and experiences from three different fields are spread: technology, entertainment and design. The first TED was organized 25 years ago in California as a four-day event. Every year, many interesting speakers are lined up at the event, which, among other things, have included so far Bill Gates, Ala Gora, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, James Cameron, Isabel Allende and Gordon Brown.
Slovenian, the first TEDx Ljubljana happened in the spring in 2009 and has grown quite successfully to date. In the capital, TEDx Ljubljana hosted more than 80 different speakers, who brought together up to 500 visitors. It will be this year November 16, starting at 5 p.m., the action is again set in Cankar's home and to the Hall of Gallus. For now, this year's speakers are still unknown, but will be revealed in the coming weeks. Registrations for viewing the event are now open November 2nd.
