Temp'L – a fascinating pavilion from an old rusty ship

Old ship converted into a pavilion.

South Korean architecture firm Shinslab Architecture has turned an old rusty ship into a spectacular building bursting with greenery. It is located next to the entrance of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul. It is the award-winning Temp'L pavilion with an upside-down ship, with which the young authors wanted to show that beauty is everywhere.

For your own an ecologically oriented project they cut off a part at the South Korean office disused and rusted ships, turned it upside down and turned it into a beautiful object (they left the exterior untouched, i.e full of rust, and the interior was painted white), which also brought them victory in the aforementioned competition. Visitors are welcomed inside the ship trees, benches and spiral stairs, which lead to the balcony.
