Teo Ivančič. Surfing teacher and coach, passionate enduro/cross rider. A chemist by education - a graffiti artist at heart! He wants to digitize his art and present it on other media and not just on walls or airbrush products.
In his desire to bring some color into our lives by painting different surfaces, he grows more and more not only as an artist, but as a person.
What does a graffiti artist always carry in his bag?
Sketchbook, pencil, eraser, markers, spray caps.
How are the promotions going?
Click, click on the keyboard. A couple of calls, a tentative conversation, a sunny day, friends, good music and fun in a thousand and one ways.
What is your signature or how do we recognize your artwork?
According to the signature under the graffiti - Teoson - this is me. For additional verification of my work, you can visit my FB profile, as I regularly post pictures of my work.
Has the attitude towards graffiti and graffiti changed over the years?
Yes. A lot. Both with myself and with others. The perception of "junk art" has changed, becoming more and more "changeable". Also appreciated.
How do you choose the location where the graffiti will be located?
Talk to the owner or not. I choose walls or locations that call for "transformation" and "refreshment".
You arranged an indoor skate park in Maribor. How did you come up with this idea and how did the transformation of the space take place?
Well, it's not exactly an indoor skate park. Maribor has been waiting for this for many years. T is more like my "skate studio", where I gather inspiration and disconnect from reality. Since I am also an enthusiastic skater, I fulfilled my childhood wish in the studio - a mini ramp. I did most of it myself, with some help from friends. My friends and I are now happy to hang out on the "Krivina" and have fun.
Where do you learn graffiti with us?
Everything is more self-initiated. You also usually meet people from the profession who may or may not help you. In any case, they at least introduce you or guide you along new paths. From time to time, a workshop is also organized where the technique is "quickly" presented. How the individual will progress depends on him/herself. It's all about persistence and mileage with wall sprays.
