To make the wait for Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, the latest film directed by Quentin Tarantino, a little shorter, here is a list of his best films.
Fans of the actor and director Quentin Tarantino they know that this giant has been saying for years that he would only made 10 films, then he will retire from the film world. He last surprised us in 2015 with his eighth film in a row, The sneaky eight, and now we are waiting for the penultimate film Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. If it is true (the American media write that he confirmed that he will keep his promise), as he predicts, he will end his career this year with the series Star Trek, which we can expect in 2020 (it will have 10 episodes).
It's hard to deny that Tarantino left behind an interesting oeuvre, so in his honor we have compiled the best films that are worth watching. With a list that runs the gamut from Westerns to crime dramas, there's something for everyone. Tarantino is so far independently directed eight films, but it should be emphasized that it is a film I'm going to kill Bill divided into two parts. That's why it made it to our list nine films.
His ninth and at the same time penultimate film, in which they will star together for the first time Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, Tarantino called it Once upon a time... in Hollywood (Once Upon a Time... and Hollywood). It is already coming to Slovenian cinemas August 15. Until then, we leave you to his the best movies, which follow below.
1. Reservoir Dogs (1992)
Quentin was only 29 years old when his first film was released. The crime drama about crime and betrayal catapulted the previously unknown director into the stars of the film industry.
2. The Dog (Pulp Fiction, 1994)
Bruce Willis, John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson shone in this cinematic masterpiece. Tarantino managed to masterfully weave a story around the lives of two hired killers, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a robber couple.
3. Jackie Brown (Jackie Brown, 1997)
Jackie Brown is Tarantino's only film based on a book. In this case, it was the novel Rum Punch, written by Elmore Leonard in 1992. The protagonist Jackie Brown, who finds herself at the center of a dangerous conflict, was portrayed by Pam Grier.
4. I will kill Bill (Kill Bill Vol. 1, 2003)
Tarantino divided the story, in which the main character is The Bride (Uma Thurman), into two parts. The killer, who wakes up from a coma after four years, is determined to take revenge on her former colleagues and the leader of the group, Bill.
5. I will kill Bill 2 (Kill Bill Vol. 2, 2004)
Those who expected a lot of sword-wielding from the sequel to the action blockbuster were left disappointed. The second film of the I'll Kill Bill franchise focuses more on interpersonal relationships, surprises and humor than on bloody fights.
6. Death Proof (2007)
Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) introduces us to his strange world in which he kills innocent victims in brutal road chases with his customized car. One day, he meets Zoë (Zoë Bell), a stuntwoman who knows the rules of the game and strikes back at the killer.
7. Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Set during World War II, the film focuses on a deadly platoon of American soldiers. Along with Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz proved themselves in acting roles, so it is no surprise that they also appeared in Django Unchained 3 years later.
8. Django Unchained (2012)
In the modern Western, Jamie Foxx portrays the slave Django, who is freed two years before the American Civil War by the bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). The duo's journey leads them to the cruel plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).
9. The Hateful Eight (2016)
Bounty hunter John (Kurt Russell) wants to make his way to Red Rock with his captive Daisy (Jennifer Jason Leigh) in the harsh winter. Along the way, Marquis (Samuel L. Jackson) and Chris (Walton Goggins) join them. A blizzard forces the group to stop at an isolated guesthouse, where they are met by several suspicious strangers.
