We're counting down the last days to 2016. And since it'll be here sooner than you can blink, we need to think about New Year's Eve now. Therefore, if we do not plan to spend the longest night of the year outdoors or somewhere in the "tropics" with all four in the air, we can also prepare a New Year's Eve party at home. For an intimate "black tie" or mini festive party at home, all you need is a few closest friends and some creativity. So how do you throw the best New Year's Eve party at home?
In the candlelight
Let's turn off the lights and flood the rooms in the house with candles. These will provide a romantic, festive and "sexy" atmosphere in one, and at the same time we will save money (at least on the electricity bill). If we want our candles to burn longer, we put them in an airtight plastic bag the day before the party into the freezer.
Let's go pink
They will also create a different atmosphere pink light bulbs. We can replace ordinary light bulbs with pink ones for a party night and let ourselves be impressed by the positive change that will conjure up an incredible atmosphere in our home.
Kitsch luxury
It may sound funny and you may be in denial yourself, but we still love traditional New Year's parties where we are not only better dressed, but where our heads are decorated hats, tiaras, where they flourish around the neck boo and where they are glitter mandatory part of the toilet.
Personalized music
Guests who will come to our party can be asked to provide us with theirs favorite songs. From this information we can then create a suitable playlist, which will entertain the guests and remind them that their wishes also count.
There is no New Year without champagne
At the New Year's party, we can serve a special drink, aperitif at the beginning of the party and champagne at midnight. We will also take care of our guests by offering the drinks that our guests prefer to drink between drinks.

Light snacks
We serve guests throughout the evening light snacks, such as savory snacks, pretzels, sandwiches and mini pizzas. About an hour and a half before midnight, we serve s buffet menus, which includes, for example, a variety of stews, puff pastry and fruit that will fill stomachs towards the end of the evening.
Game night
The New Year's party will certainly be brightened up by various things board game, which will save guests time and make them smile at the same time. If we want to get away from the classics consisting of Monopoly, Uno, Activity and Drinkopoly (although this one is quite ideal for a New Year's party), for ideas let's ask the guests and then use the ideas to create a board game that will satisfy all tastes.
Where's my glass?
For all guests who like to stock their glass, the "decorations" for the glasses will be perfect. We can equip these with metal pendants (if it is wine glasses) or we stick personalized ones on ordinary glasses name cards the guest, or we let the guests do it themselves upon arrival.
The invitation should say what kind of party it is
Write down on the invitation what kind of party we will prepare. We can decide to theme evening or prepare a "black tie", festive party, where guests are already told in the invitation that they should prepare their best toilets for this evening. You can prepare the more daring ones pajama party and provide space and pillows for guests who will be sleeping over.
Bags of surprises
We can prepare for guests upon departure a surprise bag. Let's put good chocolate, some beauty product or a scented candle in it, and add a little something to it aspirin or vitamin C, which will come in handy the next day.
