Although the Olympic Games are a place where many are born inspiring stories and as film scripts write themselves, there are relatively few films on this topic, but still enough that we were able to choose only those of really high quality and worth your time.

Orel Eddie (Eddie The Eagle, 2016)
Eddie the Eagle is about a British boy, later known as Eddie the Eagle, who always wanted to compete in the Olympics. Since childhood, he moved from one sports discipline to another, but due to his lack of talent, he could not settle down anywhere. When he almost gave up, he came across ski jumping and got it into his head that he would become the first Briton to compete in this discipline at the Olympics. Olympiad (Olympia, 1936)
Eulogy to the Olympic Games by German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl was the first documentary film about the Olympic Games, and it focuses on the events of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. It is labeled as a propaganda film of the Nazi party, but on the other hand, it exalts the American athlete Jesse Owens, who took away four gold medals from Berlin and wounded the pride of the Aryan race.
Cool Runnings (1993)
Ice Lanes is a comedy film inspired by the debut of the Jamaican bobsled team at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary (Canada). Loosely based on the team that won the hearts of fans around the world at the time, it sums up this historic moment with a great deal of drama.
Munich (2005)
The 1972 Olympic Games in Munich are considered one of the most tragic in history, as Arab terrorists (Palestinian extremists of the Black September group) killed 11 Israeli Olympians in the Olympic Village after kidnapping them. Steven Spielberg's film focuses on the time after the massacre, when Israeli special forces plot a showdown with those involved in the massacre.
Prefontaine (1997)
Prefontaine is the tragic story of the American long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine, who died before reaching his sporting peak. He ran with an absolutely relentless style. He started at full power and then only increased the intensity. His life ended too soon in a car accident. The runner was portrayed by Jared Leto, who can just be seen as the Joker in the film The Derelict Squad.
Miracle (2004)
Everything is possible if you believe in yourself, they say. The movie Čudež has all the ingredients of a classic Hollywood sports movie - initial disagreements, disfavor of the protagonist, the passionate coach and the Russian opponent. Can the US hockey team pull off a surprise and bring home the gold?
Blades of Glory (2007)
Drkajva together brings to the fore the figure skaters, the macho Chazz and the soft-spoken Jimmy, who are great rivals. Their rivalry culminates at the Olympics, where they share first place, followed by a brawl. The disciplinary commission bans them from skating among individuals for life. When the former enemies meet again three years later, through a series of strange circumstances, they decide to put on skates again, but as a punishment they must do so as the first male-male skating pair.
Chariots of Fire (1981)
Chariots of Fire is a sports drama based on true events. It's about a Jewish student and a Scottish missionary who run in the Olympics for completely different motivations. The former runs for fame and money, the latter for god. The music for the film was written by music giant Vangelis.
Asterix at the Olympic Games (2008)
Asterix at the Olympics is the most expensive film in French history. It follows the brave, unruly and popular Gauls as they compete to win the Olympic Games. The winner is promised marriage to the beautiful princess Irina, with whom Romantix the Gaul is head over heels in love. Asterix and Obelix come to his aid, but since stimulants are forbidden among athletes, they have to give up their miracle potion.
