It should be noted that the optimal purchase time is influenced by many factors, such as seat location, flight experience, destination and price. For international travel, however, it is best to book up to 60 days in advance.

For international travel, it's cheapest to travel on Thursday as you can save up to 6 % on a return ticket. For domestic flights, Wednesdays are the cheapest to travel, while flights on Sundays will cost you the most, according to CheapAir's Airfare Study.
